Seattle Monorail

  • Seattle Center Monorail departs approximately every 10 minutes from two stations:
    • Westlake Center Station, at 5th Avenue and Pine Street
    • Seattle Center Station, adjacent to the Space Needle

2nd Avenue N. & Mercer Street, Seattle, WA, 98109 (Adjacent to the Bagley Wright Theatre. Entrance on Mercer Street at 2nd Avenue North. Close to Seattle Repertory Theatre and Cornish Playhouse.)

Space Needle

  • The Space Needle was built at the same time as the Monorail for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. It stands at a height of 605 feet and provides a 360-degree view of Seattle from the Observation Deck. The Needle also features a revolving restaurant five hundred feet above ground called SkyCity.
  • To get to the Space Needle, ride the Monorail to Seattle Center station. The Space Needle is located in front of the station at the bottom of the ramp.

Pike Place Market

  • Pike Place Market is an iconic attraction in downtown Seattle that boasts nine acres of fresh produce, fish, flowers, local jewelry, artwork and gifts. Over 10 million visitors visit Pike Place Market annually. It is also home to the original Starbucks.
  • To get to Pike Place Market, ride the Monorail to Westlake Center station. When you exit the train, use the stairwell/elevator on the left side of the platform and exit at street level.  Turn right and walk to the corner of 5th Avenue and Pike Street. Turn right at Pike Street and walk down a couple of blocks until you reach Pike Place Market.

Chihuly Garden and Glass

  • Don’t miss out on the stunning Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit which provides guests with an in depth look at local artist, Dale Chihuly’s, career and significant pieces of work. We recommend visiting the exhibit at night!
  • To get to Chihuly Garden and Glass, ride the Monorail to Seattle Center station.  The exhibition is located next to the Space Needle at the bottom of the ramp. Walk to the right of the Space Needle to find the entrance to the exhibition.

Pacific Science Center

  • Pacific Science Center aims to ignite curiosity in people of all ages and hopes to inspire creative thinking that will fuel the innovations of the future. Make sure to check out their newest exhibit, Professor Wellbody’s Academy of Health & Wellness – it’s very interactive and fun!
  • To get to Pacific Science Center, ride the Monorail to Seattle Center station. From the station, take the bridge that leads to the Armory (formerly Seattle Center House), exit the Armory through the doors located to the right of Starbucks. Look straight ahead and you will see Pacific Science Center’s famous white arches.

Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)

  • This Museum is dedicated to music, science fiction and pop culture. The Museum features exhibits that focus on to music icons like Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. It also has incredible science fiction exhibits, which feature original props and artifacts from legendary films like The Matrix and Terminator.
  • To get to MoPOP, ride the Monorail to Seattle Center station. Exit the station using the ramp and continuing going left. MoPOP is the bright, colorful building shaped like a smashed guitar.
