Across all genres of music, black people in Tennessee have definitely laid the foundation! Our state really is the epicenter of talent in our nation, and has been for generations. The “I Have a Voice: Tennessee’s African American Musical Heritage Exhibit” at the Cookeville History Museum was full of fascinating information about these historically significant musical contributions, and offered a first hand view of many artifacts to illustrate these milestones in music history.
