The last stop on our 2021 North Georgia Apple Excursion was Hillcrest Orchards. Here, we were able to grab some Braeburn and Arkansas Black. Each Apple House offers a different experience, and Hillcrest feels, by far, to be one of the most kid-oriented ways to spend a fall afternoon. The best time to experience Apple Season in North Georgia is usually going to be in September and October. Our favorite Apple House experience on our 2021 North Georgia Apple Excursion was, hands down, Mack Aaron’s Apple House. It’s a smaller place, and looks a little unsuspecting from the exterior. R&A Orchards is an Apple House built for VOLUME! There are sooooo many apples in this place! Just check out the photos below! Prices were reasonable, and selection was great! Northpoint Mall in Alpharetta hosted a local business expo this weekend. We found several great vendors, including one young entrepreneur with her family selling yummy bite-sized cupcakes! I’ve been exploring a lot of smaller cities and towns around the Atlanta area. Today’s adventures brought me to the quaint little town of Woodstock, Georgia. Smack dab in the middle of a historic railroad route, still right on the tracks, you’ll find a modern expanse of boutiques, shops, bars, restaurants, dessert spots, and more… Among the hippest of those dessert spots, you’ll find Pie Bar! We first experienced Ah Boong in Koreatown Los Angeles last December, and I thought it was the cutest thing ever! On a hot summer day, you need a cool, fun, and healthy treat! At Poet’s South in Cookeville, a Seasonal Fruit Acai Bowl and a Front Porch Cold Brew really hit the spot! The Acai Bowl was full of plump, juicy strawberries, sweet coconut, crunchy granola, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkling of chia seeds; atop a smooth, cold, blended acai base. The Porch Swing, with our choice of a non-dairy alternative, featured a dreamy blend of espresso, almond milk, and bourbon caramel!

The girls treated my mom and me to a lovely Mother’s Day Tea Party! We headed into Downtown Athens, Georgia to pick up Donuts from Zombie Donuts, and tea from Bubble Cafe! I’ve been wanting to try the Butterfly Pea tea, and it was exquisitely lovely! A cool and refreshing fruity floral, without overbearing sweetness. With tapioca boba, of course! Grandma had a mango tea. The girls had honeydew and almond milk teas. The Butterfly Pea may very well be my new favorite drink! Thank you, ladies! It was a wonderful surprise treat!

It’s not easy living in a pandemic world… But, Lil’ Ice Cream Dude’s awesome ice cream sandwiches help make it a whole lot cooler! Whenever we have to run out for errands, we always do our best to support a small, local business along the way. Today, we decided to stop by and pick up some delicious treats from our local Ice Cream Celebrity, Mr. Beau Shell, himself. Their order-online, curbside delivery service was seamlessly executed. Our final Korean indulgence for the evening was a Mango and Milk Snow Flower Bingsu from Little Bean Cafe in the Koreatown Galleria. Bingsoo is a popular Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings that may include chopped fruit, condensed milk, fruit syrup, and red beans. Varieties with ingredients other than red beans are called bingsu. Our bingsu was a light, creamy milk-based bed of shaved ice, covered in fresh mango! Mmmm! So, this little adventure just started with Mom Solo trying to find a cup of coffee from a local coffee shop after dropping the girls off at their concert in Newark. What a wonderful find in Chelsea Market! Li-Lac Chocolates is billed as Manhattan’s Oldest Chocolate House, and the Chelsea Market location did not disappoint! So much to choose from! Check out all the fantastic hand-made holiday creations! Chocolate snowmen, toy soldiers, Santa Clauses, and more! And the Marzipan! This is the first time I’ve ever actually seen it… The first time we’ve actually tried it. And it was INCREDIBLE! One of my new favorite foods, for sure!
