A Vegan Picnic in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests – Helen, Georgia – 06/13/2020

When your daughter is a very creative vegan chef, you are overwhelmingly fortunate to regularly enjoy such lovely meals!

She prepared this gorgeous spread for our picnic in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests before we set off on our Anna Ruby Falls Trail Hike for the afternoon.

Fresh Blueberries from Damn Good Dawg Farms in Watkinsville, Georgia.

All the other items are from Three Rivers Market in Knoxville, Tennessee and Jae-Mor Farms in Alto, Georgia; and a few goodies from Trader Joe’s, Fresh Market, and ALDI.

Blueberries, Apples, and Celery

Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Gooseberries

Cherries, Dates, Green Olives, Cashews, Sunflower Seeds, and Pumpkin Seeds with Cracked Pepper Crackers

Carrots, Cucumbers, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes

The Savory Veggie Sandwich is Pumpernickel Bread, with black bean hummus, chick peas, tomatoes, sweet peppers, and mushrooms, on a bed of kale.

The Sweet Fruit Sandwich is also Pumpernickel, spread with Almond Butter, and stacked with avocado, apricot, and blueberries.

Accompanying dips include Organic Sesame Tahini and Freshly Ground Almond Butter.

Gorgeous and Delicious!

Oh, and HEALTHY, too!
