When visiting North Georgia, make sure you take in some gorgeous forest scenery on your way to a beautiful waterfall!
One of our favorites is Anna Ruby Falls in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests, just outside of Helen, Georgia.
A gorgeous set of 150 foot falls awaits you at the end of a 0.4 mile, slightly inclined trail.
A few spots are a little steeper, but the paved trail, on average, is a pretty easy undertaking for families hiking with children.
Anna Ruby Falls is located beyond the entrance gates of Unicoi State Park, which offers additional recreational opportunities during your visit.
If you spend time in Unicoi State Park, you do need to pay the Georgia State Park Admission Fee, which is usually about $5 per vehicle . If you are just passing through to Anna Ruby Falls, you are only responsible for the $3 per person over the age of 16 National Park Service fee. If you hold a valid National Park Pass, this covers entrance fees for all the passengers in your vehicle.
Spend an afternoon taking in waterfalls, tall trees, ferns, fungus, mushrooms, caterpillars, butterflies, and all the lovely nature that surrounds you!
