Santa brought Trillian an Espresso Machine for Christmas, so we’ve been having all kinds of fun with it. Meaning, she makes all the drinks, and I get to drink them. Doesn’t get much more fun than that! This little creation here is a Lavazza Dark Roast Almond Milk Latte, flavored with Salted Caramel and Toasted Marshmallow flavor syrups. Cafe Blue Coffee Roasters in Duluth, Georgia is a newer coffee shop in Gwinnett County, opened in early 2020. Status Dough Artisinal Doughnuts & Coffee normally does offer Vegan Doughnuts; but we just missed them today, as the customer in front of us grabbed the last few. So, I suppose they are pretty popular, and that’s usually a good indicator that they just might be yummy! I did grab the giant Chocolate Doughnut for Alysia, and the Orange Creamsicle Doughnut for myself. First time I’d ever had an Orange Creamsicle Doughnut, and it’s definitely an appropriate choice being Tennessee Orange and all… But, whoa… It was SOOOO good! On a hot summer day, you need a cool, fun, and healthy treat! At Poet’s South in Cookeville, a Seasonal Fruit Acai Bowl and a Front Porch Cold Brew really hit the spot! The Acai Bowl was full of plump, juicy strawberries, sweet coconut, crunchy granola, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkling of chia seeds; atop a smooth, cold, blended acai base. The Porch Swing, with our choice of a non-dairy alternative, featured a dreamy blend of espresso, almond milk, and bourbon caramel!

Roxanne’s Cafe, located at the Clarion Inn of Ridgecrest, California, offered a selection of surprisingly good free breakfast choices. While not a buffet, you instead got your choice of one menu item and a drink, included in the price of your room. French Toast, Eggs, and Bacon And a Breakfast Croissant with a Side of Fresh Fruit. UPDATE: It looks like the restaurant at the Clarion formerly known as Roxanne’s is now operating as Charlie’s Pub and Grill. Let us know if you like it!

Bad Owl Coffee Roasters… Is Oh, So Good! One of these days I’m going to get around to making a “Best of the Best Coffee Shops” List… And, thus far, Bad Owl would be in THE Number One position… Their selection of Signature Drinks was out of this world… And they were GORGEOUS! This was actually our first experience with a Cold Brew. And I still dream of its tantalizingly delicious awesomeness! There was no way we could narrow down our choices any more than we did. We literally walked out of here with SIX drinks! And every single drink…

Just two blocks south of Fremont Street, at the corner of S 4th Street and E Bridger Avenue, you’ll find AmeriBrunch Cafe serving up a unique array of coffee and espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and healthy foods! We got a Pistachio Rose Latte and a Lavender Spice Latte! And is it just me, or does the Pain au Chocolat look just like cutest little sloths! Delicious and adorable!

We first found the pure MAGIC that is Dutch Bros Coffee in Oregon in Summer 2018. The fun, festive vibes of the staff are sure to perk you up for the morning, and that is even before you put a cup to your lips to start enjoying all of their amazingly delicious coffee combinations. It’s “just” a quick drive-thru or walk-up experience, but, man, it will be the happiest 5 minutes of your day! As we headed North out of Little Rock, we timed it just right to be passing through the Argenta neighborhood of North Little Rock right as Mugs Cafe was opening for the morning. We left the house with plenty of coffee for the road, but our first official stop for Vacation Coffee was the fancy feline-themed Red Cat Coffee House by Railroad Park in Downtown Birmingham, Alabama. We’ve been hitting the coffee scenes in Cookeville and Chattanooga pretty hard lately, so we decided to see what else might be available along our Tennessee route. Ah, yes, another morning at a fabulous Athens restaurant… Athens, Georgia truly is THE Dining Destination of the South! I came to Mama Jewel’s this morning looking for some Chicken and Waffles, but I ended up not being able to resist the Smoked Salmon English Muffin, and the unique sound of the Ooey Gooey with housemade Jalapeno jelly and brie smothering a fried chicken breast! The service was awesome, of course, and the Southern Pecan Coffee was refillable!

There’s always a little something new on the menu at Condor Chocolates, so we try to stop in as often as we can! Maybe a little too often, sometimes! But, then again, you can never have too much incredible melt-in-your-mouth Condor flavor… This really is an absolute gem of a place in the Five Points Neighborhood of Athens! This morning, we hit up the Oconee Farmers’ Market in Downtown Watkinsville, Georgia in Oconee County, just outside of Athens, Georgia. Some coffee shops are just shops that sell coffee. And then there is Caliber Coffee Co. in East Nashville / Donelson. Caliber is the sweetest, kindest, most awesome coffee shop I have yet to find along our journeys. In the lobby, they collect items to donate to the less fortunate. We definitely got our chocolate fix today in Gulf Shores! We’ve been passing Chocolate Corner every day since we’ve been here, and we finally had a chance to stop. They had a great selection of delicious truffles in a wide variety of flavor choices. Our other favorite was their unique selection of Chocolate Barks. From Sea Salted Almonds, to Toffee Crunch, to Key Lime White Chocolate, and SO much more… We loaded up! The Milky Way Latte was excellent, and the White Chocolate Raspberry Mocha was incredible!

Not far from where we are staying in Gulf Shores, and right in the heart of where we were shopping, we found Matt’s Homemade Alabama Ice Cream. Billed as “The Only Homemade Ice Cream in the Gulf Shores Area“, they offer 40 decadent flavors, all available in VERY generous servings! They also offer such goodies as banana splits, ice cream floats, milkshakes, and more. Oh, and espresso drinks! Don’t these cones look scrumptious? Mmmm! Matt’s makes a fabulous treat after a day enjoying all that Gulf Shores, Alabama has to offer!
