The last stop on our 2021 North Georgia Apple Excursion was Hillcrest Orchards.
Here, we were able to grab some Braeburn and Arkansas Black.
Each Apple House offers a different experience, and Hillcrest feels, by far, to be one of the most kid-oriented ways to spend a fall afternoon.
The best time to experience Apple Season in North Georgia is usually going to be in September and October.
This year, the Apple Industry as a whole suffered many setbacks, so many of the Pick-Your-Own Excursions ended early, or weren’t available at all.
And most of the special events are over by Halloween.
But, if you are looking for the whole package of Fall Farm Fun, be sure to include Hillcrest Orchards on your Apple Picking Itinerary!
Admission includes the petting farm, wagon rides and all the playgrounds, including the giant slides, kiddie corn maze playground, trike rides, jumping pillow and their new ball zone.
The Hillcrest Bakery is open every day and offers fried apple pies, apple cider doughnuts, ginormous apple fritters, and so much more!
The Hillcrest Farm Market is open every day until the end of November, and is stocked full of tree-ripened apples, cider, canned goods, honey, baskets, peelers, toys and so much more.
WEEKENDS IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER: At Hillcrest’s annual “Apple Pickin’ Jubilee” you can pick your own apples; milk a cow; watch pig races; listen to live bands; and enjoy cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage. For a list of all the attractions see the visitor’s guide.
The Hillcrest Cowfe and Hillcrest grill are open on festival weekends, serving burgers, hot dogs, barbecue, fries, grilled corn on the cob, chicken on a stick, fried oreos, funnel cakes, ice cream and lots more!
