What a neat little find in the North Little Rock area, and a GREAT way to spend an afternoon exploring!
The Old Mill, located at T. R. Pugh Memorial Park, is an authentic reproduction of an old water-powered grist mill. It is most noteworthy for appearing in the opening scene of Gone with the Wind in 1939!
Dionico Rodriguez, a sculptor from Mexico City, designed each detail in his “fake wood” style, and this gives the mill it’s whimsical and absolutely magical appearance!
The Old Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It is believed to be the only remaining structure from the filming of Gone With the Wind.
