I’m not much of a drinker, as I’m more of a collector of experiences as we travel. I’ve seen Mead in a few places along the way, but have yet to sample any for myself, or purchase any for my personal collection.

But, Mead is definitely a rapidly growing niche of Crafted Alcohol with over 300 Meaderies in the United States! As we find locations that offer educational experiences in a family-friendly environment, we will be sure to add them here for your consideration!

What is Mead, if you might be asking?

The great and powerful Wikipedia offers, and I quote, “Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The alcoholic content ranges from about 3.5% ABV to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage’s fermentable sugar is derived from honey.”

If your curiosity is piqued, be sure to check back as we add the best Meaderies to our list!
