One of our more important goals here at SPG Family Adventure Network is to share the magic of the “Small Town Experience” so that others may indeed find joy along their journeys by stepping off the beaten path!
We’ve been putting more effort lately into hitting up as many locally owned restaurants and shops as possible along our routes.
Heading back to Tennessee one evening, we kind of had it in our minds we were going to eat in Atlanta or Chattanooga; but I’ve been hearing a lot of positive feedback on downtown Cartersville, Georgia becoming quite the destination.
So, we jumped off Interstate 75, headed into the quaint Downtown Cartersville Square, and were quite pleased to find Maine Street Coastal Cafe.
We were treated to some amazingly crafted seafood fare, with both Northern and Southern inspired flavor, definitely on par or even better than many choices we’ve tasted directly in New England or Cajun Country; for just a fraction of the price you’d find in the more touristy areas!
And the service was excellent! The waitress was very sweet, right on cue, and we couldn’t have asked for more attention to detail. And the management staff checked on us throughout the evening to ensure that we were pleased with every aspect of our meal. And, indeed, we were!
